The Nursing Assistant Advisory Committee in Arizona established the classroom and clinical curriculum and standards for nursing aide training courses. The Job Corps in Arizona provide nursing assistant training at no cost to people who qualify. To qualify, you must meet certain income requirements and be of the ages 17 to 24. Mesa Community College CNA Training Program

The CNA course at Mesa Comm is a 150 hour course comprising of 60 hours classroom experience and 90 hours of clinicals. The cost of the program is just under $1100 and is one of the better priced programs throughout Arizona. The cost covers your textbook, fingerprinting, drug screen, nursing uniforms as well as a comprehensive background check.
To get admission in the program, you must be either 18 years of age or hold a GED diploma. You must also possess up to date immunization documentation.
Effective 2008 applicants are also required to provide proof of citizenship.
Taking a nursing assistant program at a community college makes it easy to join a more advanced nursing program in the future as you will have already completed a number of valid nursing credit hours.
