You will need to attend a state approved training program if you want to be eligible to sit for the CNA certification exam and start a new career as a certified nursing assistant in Pennsylvania. Although, training programs usually only cost a few hundred dollars, you might very well be in need of finding free CNA training options. Fortunately, there are some free training options for you in Pennsylvania:
Apply for employment with a long-term care facility if you are interested in working as a nursing assistant. These facilities will often hire individuals who are not yet certified and then provide the nursing assistant training. If they do so, the employer must pay for the cost of both your training and certification exam. You can also receive reimbursement for your training if you are hired by a long-term care facility in a year or less after receiving certification. Get more info on this by reading our article on How To Get Trained For Free Through Nursing Homes
Contact the welfare office in your local community if you are low-income or unemployed and searching for nursing assistant training. They can direct you to any programs for which you might qualify that would pay for your nursing assistant training. You can also contact unemployment agencies in your local area for details on training programs that might be available to you to receive no cost training.
If you serve or have served in the Armed Forces, you might qualify for no cost training. Some training programs qualify individuals for tuition assistance from military benefits. Contact local cna training programs in your area to determine if you might be able to receive financial assistance through your military benefits. You will receive training if you receive enough assistance to cover the entire cost of tuition.
It is not difficult to find CNA training programs offered at community colleges and vocational schools in Pennsylvania. Some of these programs will make you eligible to apply for financial aid or for scholarships. You might be granted enough financial assistances or a large enough scholarship to cover the entire cost of training. Therefore, you will be receiving free cna training.
