Free CNA Training in Washington

A career as a CNA in Washington State can be a good choice if you want to be able to provide basic level care for patients without entering into a more advanced career at this time.  You will find that it is necessary to complete a state certified nursing assistant training program and nursing assistant certification test before receiving your full certification.  To get free training in Washington, read below:

Try to find employment opportunities before you even receive your nursing assistant certification.  Many nursing homes and care facilities will offer you a job as a nursing aide and will provide you with the necessary training to become a certified nursing assistant.  There are usually criteria that you will need to meet in order to receive free cna training and job employment.

Search for certified nursing assistant training programs at two –year colleges.  The programs for CNAs at these schools are often in the form of a certificate course (often for actual credits).  These classes sometimes are eligible for financial aid including state or federal grants and scholarships.  Talk to the financial aid office to find out if and how you can apply for assistance.

If you are working for an employer who has a need for CNAs, express your interest in a new career.  You might find that your employer wants to help if you have a good work record and are motivated.  They might provide and or pay for your training in order to help you achieve your goals.  Of course, it is likely that you will be required to continue working for the employer in your new career for at least a few months.

Take the time to search around for potential financing options if you cannot afford CNA training.  You might be surprised to find that you do qualify for help to receive training for free.

Free Training From The Job Corps

The Cascades Job Corps Center and the Columbia Basin Center both provide training for free in Washington. While it may be difficult to adjust to the demands of studying in the job corps, it does prepare you better for the rigors you will face when working as a nursing assistant.
